Margaret is actually the only reviewer who didn't especially like Marilyn's children's novel, The Fisherman's Son. In 2003, Marilyn Peake ran an advertisement in "Radio-TV Interview Report". This ad covered two topics: her book, The Fisherman's Son, and her ability to speak as a psychologist about the problem of overscheduled children. As a result of these RTIR ads, Marilyn was interviewed by "Teen People" Magazine for background information for an article on teenagers' schedules. On Monday, August 25, at 8:30 A.M. MST, Marilyn Peake was interviewed on "The Morning Bulletin" show on KBUL radio, broadcasting from Billings, Montana. She was interviewed about the problem of overscheduled children and about her book, THE FISHERMAN'S SON.
On Wednesday, August 20, at 7:40 A.M. CST, Marilyn was interviewed on 550 KTRS radio, an affiliate of ABC, broadcasting from St. Louis, Missouri. She was interviewed on "The KTRS Morning Show."
On Tuesday, August 19, at 11:05 A.M. EST, Marilyn was interviewed on 1290 CJBK radio, broadcasting from London, Ontario, Canada. She was interviewed on the "Talk of the Town" show. This was Marilyn's second radio interview in London, Ontario, Canada.
On Monday, August 18, at 3:15 P.M. EST, Marilyn was interviewed by Loreena Dickson on CFPL-AM 980 radio, broadcasting from London, Ontario, Canada. Marilyn was interviewed about overscheduled children. She also spoke about THE FISHERMAN'S SON. This was Marilyn's first radio show appearance outside the United States. It was interesting to learn that overscheduling is also a problem in Canada.
On Friday, August 15, at 6:45 A.M. MST, Marilyn was interviewed by Steve Barrows on the "KNZZ Morning News." KNZZ broadcasts from Grand Junction, Colorado. On this show, Marilyn talked about problems with overscheduled children. She also took calls from listeners and answered their questions.
On Tuesday, August 12, at 6:30 P.M. EST, Marilyn was interviewed by Mike Schikman on his show, "Speaking Of," on WSVA radio. WSVA broadcasts from Harrisonburg, Virginia. Marilyn was interviewed about overscheduled children in a segment entitled "Speaking of Education."
On Tuesday, August 12, at 2:20 P.M. EST, Marilyn was interviewed on the "Early Afternoon with Kevin Vandenbroek" show on WKZO radio. WKZO broadcasts from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Marilyn was interviewed by Kevin Vandenbroek on the topic of overscheduled children.
On Friday, August 1, at 9:15 A.M. CST, Marilyn was interviewed about THE FISHERMAN'S SON by Teresa Goodman on her show, "Talk Back with Teresa," on WNSI radio. WNSI broadcasts from Jacksonville, Alabama. The radio station covers around 39 counties from Birmingham, Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia. Teresa Goodman described THE FISHERMAN'S SON as one of the best books for 'tween age children that she has ever read! She highly recommended the book to listeners, and suggested that people buy the book to give as presents!
